Undoubtedly, proverbs were and still OCCU large room in humanism. Consequently, we notice that they have great importance (no less than verse) for all nations in general, and for literary men in particular. Certainly, we can say, with no exaggeration, that proverbs come secondly after verse.
To know exactly what proverbs are, and to study their parts I have discussed the following researches: linguistical and colloquial meaning of the proverb, area of proverbs, turn of the holy Quran and the great prophet Mohammad and the prince of declamation Imam Ali ibn -abi-Hadeed in the utterance of proverbs, and other researches.
The Aim: To know the idea of Ibn-abil-Hadeed about proverbs from (Sharh Nahj Al-Balaghah).
The new in the study:
1- Measurement in displaying kinds of proverbs between Ibn-abil-Hadeed and others.
2- Al-Damghani mentioned that the proverb has four meaning, but I have found another (the fifth) meaning which is (the double).
3- Mentioning that there is a special kind of proverbs dealt only by literary men.
4- There are other subjects which are noticeable for the reader.
