Abstract

In pre-Islamic the sons were superior the daughters by reasons of that they were watching for camels, fighting with enemies, defending prestige of tribes, reviving memory. And some of tribes buried the daughters alive for fearing of poverty and captivity of daughters. In this age, women divided into handmaiden and lady. Handmaidens were bought to work like grazing camel, cookery, singing songs, serving noble ladies and etc. ladies were in high ranking, and enjoyed rights as choice of husband, refuge, intercession and set the captive free.
The numbers of women were more than men who were killed in continual fighting. Women encouraged men to resist in battle by singing songs, and they cured wounded men carried on their shoulder water-skins, and fed the horses. The men were prevented escaping from the battle because of women ‘s presence.
In this age, a man could supervise the numbers of women. And marriages were current as permanent marriage, temporary marriage, marriage with widowed stepmother. marriage with woman who wants her husband to give her something, marriage with captive, marriage with slave, shighar marriage (exchange of daughters) and etc.
Man was right to divorce hut women did not, except she made it a condition during the marriage - contract. When husband died, his wife was waiting period for one year, until She made sure to have a child or not, she did not leave the house and clean herself.
In this age, woman enjoyed prepotional freedom and right of
interference and possession in her property. Some of women versified and judged at poetry. In 7 A.D., fountain of light appeared and sent a message like this: miserable nomad! you are God’s viceroy. God is light, kindness, life, elegance and mercy. You have not created for killing, daughters is as like as son and both of them are God s grace.
