During the eight-year Iraq-Iran imposed war, the province of Western Azarbayjan, having a 22 kilometers common border with Iraq, suffered huge damage. The cities of U rumieh, Mahabad, Miyandoab, Sardash, piranshahr and... were frequently faced with attacks and air strikes and in all 40008 residential and trade units in the cities and villages were damaged.
In this paper, while studying the different dimensions and extent of war damage in the province and concerned geographical distribution, the performed activities in the process of reconstruction of the mentioned province have been regarded and the charactlistics of reconstructing the province, the related problems, the limitations and also acquired results on the issue have also been studied.
