Abutamam is one of the greatest Arab poet in the Abbassid age. He had a unique poetical characteristic and inorated a new thecnical school in Arab poetry.
He visited Iran in 219 (A. H) and went to Abdullah ibn Taher the ruler of the Taherian Goverment. On This trip he composed some poems about the ruler, some well-known persons in Khorasan and all the events between 219 - 223 (A.H). Critics believe that this trip made a great change in his poetry. It is remarkable that a trip to Iran had such a great influence not only on Abutamam but also on the ancient poets like Mutanabbi and contemporaries like J avaheri. In this article the writer discusses imoprtant events in Iran and Khorasan which had an effect on Abutamam's Poetry.
