Abstract

Mutanabbi the greatest Arab poet in 337 A.H, spent his most fruitful life by succeeding to enter Sayfu'l -Dawla' s court. Many people turned against him, while sayfu 'l-Dawla was in fluenced by jealous person's backbiting against Mutanabbi. Having admired Sayfu'l - Dawla by versing, Mutanabbi complained to his unkindness, but Sayfu'l-Dawla did not pay attention to him. Finally he distressfully left sayfu' 1 - Dawla and did not come back for a long time.
In his absence, he versed his "Atabiall in which he complained to him about Sayfu'l - Dawla' s ignorance, that is, Sayfu'l-Dawla did not do him a favour. He came to Sayfu'I-Dawla and versed before him in Arab society. Abu-Firas Hamdanid, the brother's son of Sayfu'l-Dwla, successively revealed Mutanabbi' s plagiarism in that society, but Mutanabbi continued to verse boldly.
Sayfu 'I-Dawla was tired of this dispute, and threw an inkpot at
him, but Mutanabbi showed great courage and said if words of Jealous persons make you happy, there is no fear of it when you are happy to see me in pain! It is not important for me to take care of it. Sayfu'I-Dawla was pleased with this verse. He kissed him and rewarded 2000 dinars to him.
