The persian literature, prose and verse alike, has always been greatly influenced by the holy Qoran. The cultural and educational influence of Qoran was evident from the very begining of the persian poetry, and long before, reached its culminations during the 4th and 5th centuries, so that poetic works that are not inspired by the Qoranic verses are scarcely to be found.
The learnning and the memorizing of the holy Koran was
the basis of the subsequent education of the persian poets and formed their thoughts and attitudes. Therefore, throughout their poetic careers, persian poets have drawn upon the holy Qoran and the formative morals there in.
MolIa Mohammad Ibn-e Solayman of Bagdad, known as Fozoulie (d.963), is a brigth Moslem poet who was brought up in the Islamic tradition and grew up in the cradle of the Islamic civilization.
This article attempts to describe the ways in which the poet, of Turkish descent and a resident of Bagdad, was inspired by the Qoranic concepts.
