In this essay Ghazzali's cultural influence in Bagdad, the reasons for his departure from there, and its outcomes are analaysed in regend with the events and the cultural problems present in the islamic domain of the time. The present consideration is based on the opinion that we
cannot take the shift in Ghazzali's life as the beginning of his sufism and seclusion. And, in fact, we cannot claim that the apparent change in two phases of Ghazzali's life, before and after his departure from Bagdad, has caused any shift in his basic thoughts and religious outlooks
