To transcribe Persian speed sound by means of the pronunciation symbols adopted from the Farsi script has been long been focus of attention. Despite of relative achievements, the efforts undertaken so far, have been lacking a robust rational; hence, today' s application of the Latin script as the Persian Phonetic alphabet.
The Persian phonetic System consists of two parts. The first part, introduced in the present essay, deals with phonetics of contemporary Farsi, while the second part draws on the variety of languages and dialects belonging to the large family of Persian language.
The Persian phonetic system, as illustrated in the essay, is an attempt to exploit the symbols adopted or derived from the Farsi script to transcribe Farsi language.
The essay bears some indications on the potentiality, capacity, as well as important function of the Farsi phonetic system. Comparisons are also usefully made with the Latin symbols currently used to transcribe Farsi language.
